The team "thought very carefully about this." Users can make their sharing circle "really, really tight" and have "entire control of what you want people to see and what you don't want them to see." gymii is also deliberately not too weight- or calorie-focused: some apps serve that purpose, but gymii wants to be inclusive of people who just want to "feel better in general" or "boost their immune system." Selina concedes there "probably is room for some like negative aspects to it" with any social product, but believes sharing with close friends is "overall a net positive."
