Brian says Australia "has been a release point for a lot of us and UK based companies," Apple and Google Wallet's latest releases "after the US come to Australia first, like a majority of the time," and it's a crowded market — so winning there signals a strong chance globally.

Brian argues Australians are "very advanced and forward thinking in the way they think about mobile technology and shopping behaviors." He points to market density: "In terms of point of sale companies, there are 30 or 40, 50 in the market when the US there might be less than ten, but they have ten times the amount of population." Because it's "a very crowded market in Australia, especially for marketing platforms, fintech, new innovation," his hypothesis is that "if you can come out on top of a lot of people trying to sell similar things, then most likely, you know, from a data perspective, you have a strong chance across the rest of the world as well."
