It started at a party two years ago. Phung and Daniel were "sitting down about 10 20 shots in drinking" and decided "we should start a business" — and alcohol came into play almost immediately, since both had travelled overseas and seen alcohols not available in the Australian market.

Phung describes the origin: all three were at a party, she and Daniel were having a "little D&M session," and "10 20 shots in" they decided to start a business and started "feeding off each other" discussing options. Both had gone overseas and "seen a lot of different alcohols that's not in the Australian market," and they wanted to bring those into Australia. A couple of days later, Daniel messaged Phung "with like details on how to start," and she knew he was "fully serious."
